How To Change Your Name Color in Combat Master – Most times in this game, you end up seeing friends with colored name. Wondering how they did that? This guide covers all you need.

How To Change Your Name Color in Combat Master

You’ve probably seen it online before, and it’s surprisingly easy.

After reading this guide, you’ll be able to apply colors to your username and class names in seconds. (:

Changing your username

To edit your username, simply click on your profile in the top right corner of the screen to access your profile, inside your profile click on your username and change it as usual.

Now type <color=SELECT> before entering the desired username and replace “SELECT” with one of the following:

  • White
  • Black
  • Grey
  • Red
  • Green
  • Blue
  • Light blue
  • Orange
  • Yellow
  • Purple

You can also use any hex code you want! Just use the format: #FFFFFF instead of “SELECT” in the above example and your username will be changed to this hex code.

For example, if I wanted to use a more pinkish red versus pure red, I could type <color=#E31440> and replace it with a different shade.

The end result should look like this:

As a heads up, there is a 25 character limit for usernames in Combat Master – so you will be limited by how long your name can be when using it.

For example, using one of the hexadecimal codes means you only have 10 more characters to enter your real name.

So use it wisely! Colors with shorter names like red or gray give you a bit more room, but you’re still severely limiting your character count with this method.

Change username (short version)

There is an even shorter way to change your name.

Simply type <#FFF> and replace FFF with a 3-digit hex code of your choice and the text box will let you enter colors too.

This is much shorter so it allows you to color your username and still have plenty of room for your username.

A large list of colors available in this 3-digit hexadecimal format can be found here.[borderleft.com]

For example, if I wanted to use the color red, but wanted a longer name, I could write:

<#F00>nickname

And it would allow me to have a red username but keep the 19 characters free instead of just 14 with the longer command.

Changing class names

Changing the class name is just as easy.

Simply go to the class selection screen and then click and hold the class you want – this works best if you click directly on the class name.

Two options should appear – “Name Class” and “Set as Favorite” (If this class is already your favorite, there will only be one field.)

Now, of course, click on “Name Class” and enter the desired class name in the same way as above!

“<color=*> Class Name”

I haven’t checked the character limit for class names, but I’m sure there is one, so it will reduce your character count even when renaming classes.

HEADS UP!

Just a few notes about this particular method, I’ve mentioned the first one several times before, but using this method WILL take characters from the 25 character limit in your username.

Since the closing parenthesis causes the color code to disappear, you may end up with an even more reduced name if you try to change the color without exiting the name change menu and returning.

It’s hard to tell if you’ve deleted the code because it makes the text invisible, so double-check that you’re deleting the field before trying to change the colors.

However, the main problem with this method is that it makes it difficult for you to search the leaderboard or when someone is trying to add you as a friend.

Whatever you type in the username field is technically your username, so while it might appear on your screen as “Luke” in green, your full username would be “<color=green>Luke” and that’s exactly what should your friend have enter to add you or search for you in the leaderboard.

None of this is groundbreaking, but I just wanted to give anyone a heads up because especially adding the friend piece can be annoying if you haven’t thought about it.
