The Casting of Frank Stone Achievement Guide
Like all narrative choice games, branching pathways can make clear solutions hard, so if you have feedback please do let me know in the comments on how things can be improved.
This is not a collectible guide. I have offered general advice on them but not the locations of each one. I managed to get all but 2 collectibles on my first playthrough with no guides. Try exploring thoroughly and use the extra tools from beating the game to mop up the rest.
I will continue to update the guide as I am 100% in the game.Single Chapter Specific
During Chapter 2, when driving past the hitchhiker, choose to STOP.
When Bonnie enters the room and introduces herself, be Jovial with her and make her angry. She will storm off and you can search her bag steal the money and unlock the achievement.
In Chapter 3, inside the Drug Store, you will find an arcade machine at the back with a Space Invader type game. Get a score of over 5020 and the achievement will unlock. The bonus green ships along the top are worth 100 so will speed up earning this achievement if you can shoot them.
In the first chapter, if Sam was nice to Tom and got him to go get help then later on in this chapter when searching through the newspapers, you can find a cassette tape. Play it on the radio to the right on another worktop.
In chapter 9, after fixing the boiler you can find it through the next few corridors on the right side, opposite a red-lit window.
This achievement involves sending Chris back to 1980 but messing up the QTE’s to do so, and choosing to not help Stan. This will result in her dying and you get the achievement.
Have Chris stay in 2024 and there will be a quick time event involving Stan. Failing this will result in Stan dying and earning this achievement.
In Chapter 13, Sam searches the storm drains thoroughly before leaving for the next area and you can find Jaime if he has survived to this chapter. For one achievement you must save him by warding off Frank Stone with the camera. For the other achievement, fail to save him with the camera and let him die.
Multi-Chapter Specific
In Chapter 1, Sam must be beat up by Frank Stone resulting in a much darker personality of Sam. Later in Chapter 3, Refuse to leave the mill and is stubborn when Sam crashes the filming session. Eventually, he will offer you money to leave, and you can take the bribe for the achievement. This achievement will be relocated to multiple chapter sections soon.
Madi MUST drink in Chapter 2. For this achievement, as Linda, do not take Sam’s gun in Chapter 8. Then later in Chapter 12 Madi KEEP the pendant. Now when Madi gets hypnotised in Chapter 14, choose to shoot Madi as Sam. I believe Chris has to be sent back to 1980 for this.
Madi MUST drink in Chapter 2. For this achievement, Madi must KEEP the pendant in Chapter 12. Then in Chapter 14 she will become hypnotised. Do nothing to stop her from being killed by Frank Stone. I believe Chris has to be sent back to 1980 for this.
In Chapter 8, when playing as Linda steals the gun from Sam. Madi must be dead before you get to the generator repair in Chapter 14. When playing as Linda, successfully repair the generator in 2024, and the elevator choose to go DOWN then do the QTE segment and you will shoot Augustine.
Survival and Death
To unlock this achievement you want to try and keep everyone alive by passing all skill checks, successfully fending off the monster with the camera, keeping relationships as positive as possible, and making wise choices. I believe this achievement only counts the characters in the 1980’s surviving and perhaps Madi and Sam.
I achieved this achievement with the following:
- Everyone survived in the 80’s and they went on to separate the film.
- One of Linda or Sam will die to Frank Stone in the present (2024).
- Linda, Sam, and Madi escaped Frank Stone in the present (2024) and made it to the campfire in the woods.
- Stan and Bonnie do not matter.
Easy way to obtain this achievement:
- Chapter 5, Jaime’s death – when playing as Jaime, choose to confront Frank Stone (without the firecrackers).
- Chapter 8, Madi’s death – When playing as Madi, fail to turn off the horologium.
- Go back to 1980 as Chris immediately, since that allows you to skip chapter 12.
- Chapter 13, Chris’ death & past Sam’s death – Fail to use the camera as Linda. This will result in Chris dying.
- Later in Chapter 13, when playing as Sam, just walk into Frank Stone when you first encounter him.
- Chapter 14, 2024 Sam’s death & 2024 Linda’s death – Save Stan from Stone, by choosing to sacrifice yourself.
- Then later in Chapter 14, when playing as Linda after Frank Stone has killed Stan, fail to repair the generator and then fail the subsequent QTEs.
“Power of Two”
To earn this achievement, get Chris and Jaime’s relationship as high as possible by Chapter 5 as they may not interact much past this point to build relationship points up.
Examples, stay on script at the start of the game, side with her in disagreements with your other friends and what she wants to do, and later keep the relationship together when you have the option to break it off or not. If fleeing as Jaime against Frank Stone, you must not punch Jaime when he returns (fail the combat attack on him as Chris).
This is the point where the achievement will unlock for most players but it can unlock earlier if you maximize all correct choices once you have played you should know most of the correct responses.
If Jaime has the firecrackers he can try and rescue Chris from the portal and survive which may boost the relationship!
Collectables
In The Casting of Frank Stone, there are clear divisions when leaving for the next zone making you hold the interact button. These are mini points of no return so explore first before continuing through these areas.
These achievements are all unlocked for finding all artifact collectibles in the game, one achievement for each category plus one for all of them. These are general objects/clues you can interact with in the environment that help piece together various bits of information. They can be notes, wall paintings, etc.

Relliks are dolls of the OC killers in Dead by Daylight. You can find 11 throughout the game, and a 12th one after the credits in a post-credit scene).
After you complete the story once, you will unlock the perk Plunderer’s Instinct that will help you locate them.
Skill Checks
Complete 5 of the quick time event skill checks in a row without missing one. Should come fairly naturally!
During the end of Chapter 1, succeed all quick time events/skill checks alongside combat encounters against Frank Stone and Sam will shoot him, earning this achievement.
To open the gate you will need to find the missing rolling piece in chapter 6 (by finding a key and other objects) and slot it into the puzzle. The combination is therefore the solution is.
Unlocked after first using the camera on Frank in the past. You will earn this naturally.
In Chapter 8, Madi vents the green glowing machine correctly to get Chris out and then later proceeds to send her back using the machine again immediately and without failing any QTEs.
There are 3 generators in total and all will be repaired if you play a playthrough keeping everyone alive.
Just complete the story once for this achievement!
